Emergency Preparedness

If an emergency occurs and phones are working, regular Home Teaching channels will be used to gather information about member welfare (give your Home Teacher a call). If phones are inoperable, the following geographical Emergency Response Zones will be used to determine the welfare of ward members. See Zone maps below to determine which Zone you’re in. If phones are inoperable and you are able to contact your Zone leader, please let him or her know if you or your family needs assistance and/or to confirm that your family is safe. If your Zone leader does not hear from you, he or she will try to contact you. To view contact information for your Zone leaders, visit our official ward website at lds.org. In the event of an emergency, you also may want to tune your radio to 1640 AM for local emergency information (operated by the City of Irvine -- at the present time, Newport Beach does not have an emergency radio transmitter).
