Temple Meeting with Neighbors of 3/6/03 -- A meeting with the neighbors was held at the Stake Center on March 6, 2003. President Clayton showed the new artist's renderings of the Newport Beach Temple. Newport Beach Mayor Bromberg spoke as well as last year's Mayor Ridgeway.
Temple Cleanup Project of 3/1/03 -- The Stake organized a Temple Cleanup Project on Saturday, March 1, 2003. Many trash bags of weeds and trash were filled. A new photo of the Newport Beach Temple was shown. The Stake Presidency cooked a Pancake Breakfast that was great!!
Youth Travel to Vietnamese Branch for Christmas 2002 -- The Young Men and Women of the ward traveled to the Vietnamese Branch in Garden Grove on 12/15/02 to deliver Christmas Gifts which they had wrapped the previous Tuesday night. YW President Laura Armstrong worked with Brother and Sister Hanna, who are serving as Missionaries to the Vietnamese Branch, to allow our Youth to bring Christmas Gifts to these needy Primary Children.
"Miniature Golf at the Church" Youth Activity on February 5, 2002 -- The Young Men and Young Women designed extremely creative Miniature Golf holes in the Relief Society Room and the Primary Room. Ramps, blocks, mazes, tubes, and even skipping ropes were used to make these holes hard to navigate!! Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a big variety of Krispy Kreme Donuts in the Kitchen. Thanks to all of the Youth Leaders for helping to make this a fun yet inexpensive activity!!
"Keeping Your Car Rolling" Youth Activity at Bishop Freitas's Home on January 8, 2002 -- The Young Men and Young Women traveled up to Bishop Freitas's Home for a fun night to learn about cars. The Young Men had previously spent a night at the Freitas Automotive Headquarters in November so it was their turn to teach the Young Women how to work on their cars!! It was a fun night topped off with Donuts and Cookies. Thanks to Sister Freitas for having us all over and for making the best Hot Chocolate around!! Thanks to Brother Deverich for taking these great shots!!
San Onofre Campout of October 26, 2001 -- The weather was perfect for a fun overnighter at San Onofre. The boys had fun playing "Capture the Flag" on the beach. Lots of eggs, bacon, and pancakes for breakfast cooked by the boys tasted real good.
Joshua Tree Campout of March 3, 2001 -- It was a beautiful sunrise over our campgrounds. Plenty of climbing on the rocks. A really good breakfast. We went on a hike that was out of this world.
