Hi RAAM Fans ...

The credit for this work should go to:
1. Nick Gerlich who has worked so hard at designing and building the RAAM
Online Web Pages from which this information comes. Even now, Nick is on the
road and uploading photos from the RAAM Action every night as he goes across
America.
2. RAAM Headquarters manned by the SCOR Club and headed by Larry Mahrenholtz.
The Web Site which is the result of all of Nick and Larry's work is very
impressive and if you don't have Internet Access, you need to get it in order to
really see what each rider is doing through each time station, etc. Check out:
http://www.RAAMOnline.com

HOT ITEM -- Andre Clavedetscher leads Wolfgang Fasching by 40 minutes at
Slapout, Oklahoma, 1427 Miles into the race.

HOT ITEM -- Danny Chew passed Rob Kish for 3rd place. Yet, it's neck and neck
as both Danny and Rob checked into TS26 (Guymon, OK) at 9:10 AM!! And don't
count Kaname Sakurai out ... he went through TS26 only 4 minutes behind Danny
and Rob!!

Less than 2 hours separates Gerry Tatrai, Richard Avallone, Herbert Meneweger,
and Mark Patten at TS25 (Boise City, OK). This "peloton" of 4 cyclists trail
the Danny, Rob, and Kaname group by about 3-4 hours.

The Time Penalties and Notes section was updated below.

HOT ITEM -- Hugh Murphy called Headquarters to drop out of race due to "Leaky
Gut Syndrome."

Hugh called me this morning from Durango, Colorado, 841 Miles into the race and
explained that he must have gotten Food Poisoning the day before the start
because he couldn't keep anything down that night as well as the first day of
RAAM. During RAAM, the cyclists are burning over 14,000 Calories a day ... so
they have to be able to process a ton of food constantly.

Many of us will be going to France next month to compete in the 750 mile Paris-
Brest-Paris. Even with all of these digestion problems, Hugh rode the first 750
Miles of RAAM in 78.6 Hours -- a respectable time for Paris-Brest-Paris!! In
addition, Hugh added another 100 miles before making his most difficult decision
to abandon the race. Hugh loves the Race Across America, that's for sure!!

HOT ITEM -- Team Colorado leads Team Coast Guard by 1.5 Hours at Prescott,
Arizona, 388 Miles into the race. The Women's Team Festina/DMS is only 1 Hour
back.

These results may not line up on your CRT because of the Proportional Font
being used -- Copy them from here and Paste them into your Word Processor with
a Courier font and they will appear in columns.
